Liquid Vs. Capsules

The body does not need to break down a liquid extract, allowing more of the medicinal properties to be absorbed into the system. This makes the extraction much more powerful than a capsule or tablet. In order for any nutrients to reach the cells of the body, it must be liquid or suspended in a solution. The body undergoes first extraction or break down of the medicinal properties of herb in the stomach to transform the capsules or tablets in liquid form. As a rule, the nearer a herbal preparation approaches the liquid form, the quicker and more completely it will assimilate and take effect in your body.

Medical studies have shown that liquid extracts have faster absorption rates, higher optimization rates and is more easily digestible compared to capsules or tablets. Most people, especially the elderly and young children, tend to have more difficulties in swallowing capsules or tablets. The Physician’s Desk Reference stated that 85-90% of nutrients in liquid supplements were absorbed by the body in 22 to 30 seconds, and nutrients in pills were absorbed in hours. Supplements in liquid form are much more completely and quickly absorbed and broken down by body than most capsules and pills. The National Advisory Board stated that 100 mg consumed in tablet form translated into a concentration of only 8.3 mg or 8.3% in the blood which means only a few percent of the nutrients in pills have been absorbed. A pilot study evaluating the bioavailability and absorption rates of two vitamin B-12 preparations in normal human subjects demonstrated that absorption rate was significantly increased when dosing was in a liquid rather than solid form. Liquid medicine is the preferred method for patients in hospitals or emergency room due to the immediate efficacy, which also proved liquid extract is more powerful, beneficial and fast acting than capsules and tablets.
